Guitarist Matthew Smith answers the Qs.

Q1 How did you start out making music?
Shorter in stature, younger in years. Sore fingers, arms, squawks and bum notes leading to fewer squawks and bum notes in time.
Q2 What inspired your latest album?
Being alive, feeling things, hearing things, attempting to document the full spectrum of our human emotion.
Q3 What process do you go through in creating a track?
We write music, together, in a room. We keep writing until we think we're done, then document it on a tape. We write pretty quickly, when we have the time. Excessive touring makes us less prolific than we could, should and want to be.
Q4 Which artists influence your work?
Joan Of Arc, XTC, Pavement, The Minutemen, Mike Watt and The Black Gang, Don Caballero, Cap'N Jazz, Safetyword, Spy Vs Spy, The Wow, Storm&Stress, John Fahey, Dexy's Midnight Runners, Shellac.
Q5 What would you say to someone experiencing your music for the first time?
I hope you paid for this and didn't download it you horrible little shit because I WILL come down your modem and fuck you up.
Q6 What are your ambitions for your latest album/single, and for the future?
Our ambitions are solely musical. We hope the album sells enough so that we get to make another one and get to keep on touring. We don't really have any other ambitions than to keep making records and hopefully keep (just) paying the bills by making records and touring. Death to fake punks.
