The Raveonettes

Danish rock 'n' rollers Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo formed The Raveonettes in 2001, playing a no nonsense juxtaposition of fuzzy guitars, 60s style rock and driving beats, which has ensured their notoriety for seven years.

Their mix of vocal harmonies somewhat in the style of The Everly Brothers, lashings of electric guitars and plenty of noise earned them a Danish Music Award for Best Rock Album Of The Year for their short, sharp and punky album (all of the songs were no longer than three minutes) 'Whip It On'.

With four albums already to their name, the band are now preparing for the release of 'The Beauty Dies', the second EP from their trilogy of themed EPs, on 27 Oct.

Here are Sune's answers to our Same Six Questions.

Q1 How did you start out making music?
Heavily influenced by the work of Bob Dylan, and also the magic of great songs like 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow' and 'Up On The Roof'.

Q2 What inspired your new EPs?
The EPs are very different from each other. The first one is an electronic EP, the second one a crazy blast of beats and guitars and the third one is all about Christmas. The inspiration behind them is everything that's inspired me to make music up till now.

Q3 What process do you go through in creating a track?
I do everything at home cause I like the environment and the fact that it's free and available. I write and record during the day and go out at night. I write very spontaneously and fast, I enjoy the rush.

Q4 Which artists influence your work?
The photographers Nan Goldin, William Eggleston and Robert Frank. Paris, London, NYC, LA and Copenhagen. The fact that all things must come to an end inspires me a lot.

Q5 What would you say to someone experiencing your music for the first time?
Please enjoy.

Q6 What are your ambitions for your new EPs, and for the future?
We create music cause that's our call. I write all the time and we want the fans to hear it.
